Preparing for the Survey
+ Can different sites launch at different times?
It depends on the way that things have been set up with your company.
If you are running the survey in a “single wave” (multiple sites launching and finishing at the same time) then all sites are expected to take the survey within the same time period. They do not all have to start and finish on the exact same day, but we treat the survey as a single launch and close everything at the end.
For each survey “wave” we set up the weekly updates and who should be included, we launch the group of sites and monitor their progress. When the group finishes, we review their data, clean up any low-quality responses, close the group and send access.
If you have set up “multiple waves” we will have different launch and closure dates for each “wave”.
If you are in a single “wave”, but other sites are slower, you can encourage them to set a final deadline so that you all get to progress sooner together. If this is not workable, it might be possible to add new “waves” but this does affect cost.
+ What demographic filters are used in the survey?
From working with thousands of businesses, we have developed a set of standard demographics that help you to filter your data – based on the most common distinctions between role levels, departments and years of service. We have translated these into (almost) all of our languages and there is no fee for including them in our premium program.
+ Should I use all of these filters?
It is important not to use too many filters in order to maintain anonymity. The role filter is the most important; this affects the questions that are provided, and our research shows it has the biggest difference in terms of culture. If your sites / workplaces have less than 50 people each, we recommend only using the role filter and keeping the options to a minimum. If you expect responses from a higher number people per site/workplace, it may be useful to add more filters (if they will add value to your data analysis and don't compromise anonymity).
+ Can I add a whole new filter, such as region, country or shift?
Yes, this is possible, but fees apply. Fees will be higher if the changes are needed across multiple languages, or if the filter needs to be auto-populated and hidden.
+ Can I edit the text of filter options or add new options, e.g. an extra department?
Yes, this is possible, but fees apply. We will review the suggested changes with you to make sure that the filtering does not compromise anonymity or reduce the quality of your data. Fees will be higher if the changes are needed across multiple languages.
+ Can I delete the filter options that aren’t relevant?
Yes, you can. While the role levels filter is most important (because different role levels get different questions), you can delete the option for ‘agency / temporary worker’ if this is not an important distinction for you. For years of service, you can delete the ‘more than 10 years’ option if your company has not been operating that long, or you can delete the whole filter. For department, you can delete some of the options if they are not applicable (e.g. ‘administration / support’), or you can delete the whole filter.
